An important milestone on the way to the completion of the Semmering Base Tunnel was achieved with the first breakthrough in mid-June 22.
For about 7 years, #THYSSEN SCHACHTBAU has been building on the lot SBT1.1 starting from Gloggnitz and Göstritz together with the consortium partners #Implenia and #HOCHTIEF.
To date, approx. 13,000 metres of tunnel and 2 shafts (each approx. 250 m deep) have already been excavated using blasting and excavator driving.
The THYSSEN SCHACHTBAU Team is proud to have successfully achieved this milestone together with all partners and is looking forward to all future challenges in this strategic infrastructure project.
